ISO TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Due to mounting environmental requirements, a one-size-fits-all approach no longer meets specialised environmental training requirements. Duard Barnard & Associates design specialised environmental law and communication courses that develop advanced practical management skills and meet ISO requirements. All learning programmes are continuously updated to keep learners abreast of the latest developments in the fast developing field of environmental law.

CUSTOMISED COURSES

Customised courses are planned to meet organisation-specific environmental objectives. A typical customised programme starts with a needs analysis to set clear objectives and ensure that environmental considerations are properly integrated into general organisational management. Appropriate modules are then developed to meet the organisation’s specific training needs.

The teaching methodology embraces a combination of lectures and practical course work that will enable learners to deal with industry-specific environmental issues. Learners are expected to come to the course armed with a work-related subject for an assignment. It should be a clearly defined practical environmental task or problem that the learner has to address in the normal course of work. This provides an ideal opportunity to apply the theoretical environmental principles to organisation-specific environmental problems and address real-life environmental management challenges.

Entry requirements are a three-year tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience in an environmental supervising capacity for learners who want to build environmental managerial capacity.

Training courses encourage the translation of environmental management theory into cost-effective business strategies. The aim is to develop lateral problem solving and innovative management skills that are valid within an African context.
